Green Hills linked with 3S-Smart Software

3S will integrate Codesys SP, the run-time environment for Codesys applications, with the Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety.

'The addition of Codesys enables our industrial controls customers to integrate applications into Integrity-based systems,' said Dan Mender, vice president of business development at Green Hills Software.

'The integration of Codesys v2.3 with the Platform for Industrial Safety allows the hosting of IEC 61131-3 applications in a safe and secure manner,' said Roland Wagner, marketing manager at 3S-Smart Solutions Software.

In July of 2006, Green Hills announced that its Integrity system achieved certification by TUV to Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL3) of the IEC-61508 safety standard.

The Integrity operating system forms the core of the Green Hills Platform for Industrial Safety, composed of tools, operating systems, services, and middleware aimed at reliability-critical industrial control and automation systems.

Codesys is the hardware-independent IEC 61131-3 programming system under Windows for creating controller applications.

As the programming interface for hundreds of different industrial hardware devices, Codesys is the tool used by thousands of application programmers every day in industrial applications.

Controller applications for any kind of target hardware can be developed and operated comfortably with Codesys.

Codesys SP is a platform-independent controller system for embedded and PC-based systems (SoftPLC).
