Pacer's customers can benefit from the full design and production capabilities offered by the company's optoelectronics design centre.
Pacer's customers can benefit from the full design and production capabilities offered by the company's optoelectronics design centre.
The design centre offers customers an affordable external option to bring products to market when their own design/production resources are at full stretch.
Pacer's in-house electronic, optical and mechanical design capability benefits from many years of experience taking a product concept through design, prototyping, test and verification into full volume production.
Head of the Design Centre James Woodhead commented: "Our customers appreciate local support for design, prototyping and test, but they demand the cost savings of global production facilities".
"Pacer offers both".
From an initial specification, Pacer's design team works to select and implement optimised optics, emitters and sensors, along with subsequent signal conditioning such as multiplexing, amplification and interfacing.
Microcontroller programming and the mechanical design of mouldings, housings and connector and cable assemblies are also offered.
Pacer ensures strict conformance to any necessary quality standards such as military standards, medical ISO13485, ISO9001, QS9000 and ISO14001 QA, while also meeting cost and production engineering targets.
As the team has extensive experience of designing optoelectronic assemblies for industrial and consumer applications, they know what works and how to avoid problems, leading to enormous time and cost savings.
Thus outsourcing a complete project from the design stage is often surprisingly cost-effective.
