TÜV Rheinland's XML-based software tests products for compliance to Zigbee standards
TUV Rheinland
XML-based testing system
TÜV Rheinland has developed a proprietary software-based system that is designed to test products for compliance to the Zigbee Certified programme — which includes a set of standards that uses 2.4GHz radio frequency to monitor and control applications such as smart energy devices, home and building automation systems, healthcare instruments and retail services.
The new XML-based testing system is suitable for running all Zigbee specifications and standards product-testing programs.
The company claims that, with this test harness, it will be able to quickly and efficiently test products for compliance to the Zigbee Certified programme offered by the Zigbee Alliance.
Specific applications covered by Zigbee standards
- Thermostats
- In-home displays
- Smart meters
- Light fixtures
- Switches
- Entertainment systems
- Healthcare monitors
- Payment terminals
- Information nodes
- Personal area networks
