Support for ARM1136 and ARM1176 cores
Quadros Systems has announced support for ARM1136 and ARM1176 cores from ARM, adding to its extensive support for ARM processors.
The small footprint and high efficiency of the RTXC Quadros RTOS, coupled with the high performance and low-energy consumption of the ARM11 processors, offers advantages to manufacturers of consumer electronics, GPS systems, or any product that needs fast interrupt processing and high data throughput.
In fact, the RTXC Quadros dual-mode RTOS - with its control and data-streaming capabilities is ideal for any application that combines high-speed data and control processing.
The RTXC Quadros RTOS defies conventional wisdom that an RTOS has to have a large code footprint to provide the developer with a rich set of APIs.
RTXC offers more than 300 kernel services (APIs) but requires only a 32KB code footprint.
This size can be scaled down considerably using the supplied RTXCgen configuration tool to optimise the RTOS for the needs of the given application.
Quadros offers a range of embedded software solutions wrapped around the RTXC Quadros RTOS including design tools, 10/100 Ethernet software, USB software, file systems and LCD/graphics software.
The RTXC family of solutions from Quadros provides a flexible and reliable development and runtime solution for ARM11 processors.
The ARM1176JZF-S and ARM1136JF-S processors deliver up to 660 Dhrystone 2.1 MIPS in 0.13u process.
Both cores feature the ARMv6 instruction set, with media-processing extensions, ARM Jazelle technology and Thumb instruction-set extensions for compact code.
The RTXC Quadros RTOS also supports the tightly coupled memory (TCM), the generous cache memory (up to 64k) and the optional vector floating point (VFP) coprocessor.
The RTXC Quadros RTOS was ported to the ARM11 using ARM Realview Development Suite 4.0.
The RVDS tool suite includes the ARM C/C++ compiler, intelligent code linking and link-time code generation, and debug.
The RTXC Quadros kernel aware plug-in is available for RVDS, providing increased visibility of kernel operations during debugging.
