IAR Kickstart Kit
IAR Systems has announced the availability of an integrated development kit for the Freescale i.MX25 range of low-power ARM9-based microprocessors.
The IAR Kickstart Kit for Freescale Semiconductor i.MX25 contains an i.MX25-SK evaluation board, software development tools and a hardware debug probe.
The evaluation board, using a i.MX257 device, features 32MB of SDRAM, 1GB of Flash memory and a 320 x 240 colour TFT LCD display.
A range of onboard sensors includes key buttons, LEDs, potentiometer, three-axis accelerometer, stepper motor and a speaker.
Connectivity is provided by a variety of interfaces, including USB Host, Ethernet 10/100, UART, CAN and JTAG.
'Our i.MX25 devices are ideal for a range of multimedia applications and IAR Systems' products will greatly ease the development process for embedded engineers,' said Sujata Neidig, i.MX product manager for Freescale's Multimedia Applications Division.
Accommodating speeds of up to 400MHz, having low power consumption and providing multiple connectivity options, the range supports the requirements of industrial and general embedded products, while allowing customers to reduce their overall system bill of materials cost.
The IAR Kickstart Kit for Freescale i.MX25 contains a comprehensive suite of software development tools, including IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM 32K Kickstart edition and IAR Visualstate evaluation edition.
IAR Embedded Workbench incorporates the IAR C/C++ Compiler, assembler, linker, librarian, text editor, project manager and IAR C-SPY Debugger, combined in an integrated development environment (IDE).
In addition, example projects and RTOS board-support packages are included in the Kickstart Kit.
The IAR J-Link Lite for ARM JTAG/SWD hardware debug probe is also supplied in the kit.
It connects via USB to the PC host running Windows and integrates seamlessly into IAR Embedded Workbench.
