MRV register management tool
Magillem's MRV software targets the traditional need of IC designers to manage registers.
Using MRV, customers do not have to choose between an Excel-based register capture system, disconnected from their design, or an expensive, dedicated register management tool, which does not address the issues of collaborative work.
Multiple files are now synchronised with MRV, ensuring that they comply with the same IP definition model.
'The request for hierarchical views of the registers is fulfilled thanks to MRV, the quality of its graphical interface improves productivity, and the register specification is synchronised with RTL and ESL design even during bottom up implementation,' said Cyril Spasevski, chief technical officer, Magillem.
'Information on registers is captured once and for all, reducing the risk of error,' he added.
Features of MRV include: true synchronisation with RTL or ESL platform; the ability to visualise and edit the full project hierarchy; and true hierarchical description.
Concurrent developments in MRV handle more than 500 different XML files containing memory map fragments.
MRV has a graphical user interface that offers capabilities such as: complete register and bitfield editor, with move and resize; memory map editor; copy/paste functions to move and replace memory blocks; drag and drop registers inside the memory map; and visual identification of overlaps for immediate debugging.
MRV Basic does not require the purchase of any other tool, but to use the full potential of MRV, customers can adopt it as a plug-in on MPA (Magillem Platform Assembly).
With MGS (Magillem Generator Studio) flexible generators customisation is performed through native object oriented API, template-based engine or IP-XACT TGI.
MRV Premium includes a textual input language compliant with Magillem, Eclipse and IP-Xact technologies.
MRV runs on Linux and Microsoft Windows XP/2000.
