NCP1840 multi-LED driver
ON Semiconductor has introduced a multi-LED driver that is designed for portable applications in the industrial, computing and consumer end markets.
The NCP1840 is able to drive up to eight LEDs independently, using any illustration pattern the user creates.
The driver is suitable for multi-LED status indicators that communicate status and diagnostic conditions to the user.
Using the NCP1840, engineers can offload some of the work normally handled by the processor their system designs, as it no longer needs to directly control each individual LED, according to the company.
The device is offered in a lead-free, RoHS-compliant 4 x 4mm QFN-20 package and supports an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
