Linear Technology offers flyback regulator for applications such as automotive and military

LT3512MP regulator
Linear Technology has launched the LT3512MP, a high-voltage isolated monolithic flyback regulator that is suitable for a range of applications within the telecommunications, datacommunications, automotive, industrial and military sectors.
The device — which simplifies the design of an isolated DC/DC converter — does not require an optocoupler, third winding or signal transformer for feedback, as its output voltage is sensed from the primary-side flyback signal.
In addition, it operates in a boundary-mode, current-mode control switching scheme. According to the company, this enables the use of a smaller transformer compared with equivalent designs.
The LT3512MP is offered in a compact MSOP-16 package with four pins removed in order to allow additional high-voltage pin spacing.
