LED drivers meet needs of high-brightness lighting
Recom
AC input LED driver modules
Recom has developed a series of constant current LED drivers in the power range of 12, 20 and 60W, with the first two of these designed to meet the needs of the high-brightness LED lighting market.
The new series features universal AC inputs, power factor correction and UL-8750 certification.
With universal AC input and constant current output of 350 or 700mA, the Recom AC input LED driver modules are said to be suitable for driving almost any LED manufacturer's products and almost all LEDs systems in the industry as they have a wide output voltage range over which the constant current regulation works.
They can be used with single LEDs or with strings of up to 16 LEDs.
The RACD12 and RACD20 also feature built-in more than 0.95 power factor correction and 3kV AC input/output isolation.
The high-power, open-frame RACD60-Series offers a range of output currents and is available in five different versions to meet the current needs of any lighting system from 700mA up to 4.2A.
The output current can be adjusted with an internal potentiometer to match any non-standard requirements.
The RACD60 offers efficiencies up to 89 per cent and a built-in power factor correction of more than 0.9.
With a compact package of 4 x 2.1in, the devices are said to be the smallest 60W LED drivers in the lighting industry.
The high efficiency permits an ambient operating temperature range of -25 to 60C without derating.
All AC drivers are fully protected against short circuit, open circuit, overload and over temperature.
The RACD60-series is designed to meet the European EMC and Harmonics regulations, EN55015, EN61547, EN61000-3-2 and -3, as well as the US safety regulations UL60950.
UL8750 certification is pending.
The drivers are designed to be simple to use and offer input and output screw terminals and an additional 5.5mm socket output.
The socket allows the LEDs to be pre-wired with a matching plug to avoid possible miswiring and make lighting installation easier and safer.
With over 70,000 hours of operating life, they are ideal for commercial, residential and industrial lighting systems.
