LED drivers (AS3810, AS3822, AS3823), LED power supply IC (AS1390)
Austriamicrosystems is set to demonstrate its three latest LED drivers and LED power supply IC for LED TVs — including 3D and direct-lit TVs — at the FPD International Exhibition and Convention in Yokohama, Japan from 26–28 October.
The AS3822 and AS3823 are, respectively, six- and eight-channel LED driver ICs that are capable of smart dimming and have a digital power feedback control technique that the company says reduces energy consumption.
The AS3810 16-channel LED driver has internal FETs and multiple ICs, which can be combined to create different backlighting segments.
The AS1390 controller/buck converter supplies the LED backlight with a constant-frequency boost controller designed to work at up to 90V/3A, combined with a 5V/100mA step-down converter to supply a device such as a microcontroller. It also includes special features for 3D, as well as over-voltage, over-current and over-temperature protection.
All four units are currently sampling.
