RTOS Evaluator
Renesas Technology Europe and Hitex Development Tools have announced the launch of the compact, low-power RTOS Evaluator.
Based on a H8S/2472F microcontroller, it allows the evaluation of several real-time operating systems, TCP/IP stacks, USB stacks and FLASH file systems.
Accompanying the evaluation platform is a DVD that includes software contributions from CMX, Euros, FreeRTOS, HCC-embedded, Micrium, Segger, Sevenstax and Thesycon.
By using the supplied Evaluator GUI PC application, designers can select a choice of RTOSs and stacks and then download them to the platform using the USB interface.
In this way, different RTOSs can be fully tested using the same H8S/2472F hardware environment without the complication of changing the hardware test set-up or application.
The H8S/2472F low-power microcontroller features a 512KB Flash module and 40KB RAM combined with good communication resources such as Ethernet, USB, synchronous serial communication unit and SCI.
An LPC bus and several I2C bus interfaces and flexible timer blocks are also provided, based around a 16/32bit CISC CPU.
