Microchip unveils MCP656X family of comparators
Microchip Technology
MCP656X comparators
Microchip has launched the MCP6561/2/4/6/7/9 (MCP656X) family of high-speed comparators, with rail-to-rail input and output, push-pull open-drain outputs and a low quiescent current.
With an operating speed of 45ns, the devices offer the high-performance and low-power options needed by a range of applications.
With a supply voltage as low as 1.8V and a low quiescent current of 100uA, they can be powered directly from the battery, making them suitable for battery-powered devices.
In addition, their low power results in less heat generation, minimising thermal-related design challenges.
The MCP656X high-speed comparator family's rail-to-rail input/output structure provides greater dynamic range and better performance across the entire operating voltage range, according to the company.
This makes them suitable for: industrial applications, such as power supplies and motor control; consumer applications, including radio-frequency (RF) readers, alarm systems and portable electronics; and automotive applications, such as zero-crossing detectors and high-speed sampling circuits.
