CMX998 Cartesian feedback loop IC
CML Microcircuits has announced the upgrade of the CMX998, its highly integrated solution for transmitter linearisation that is ideal for portable devices.
A Cartesian feedback loop IC, the CMX998 offers an RF operating range of 30MHz to 1GHz.
It is said to be flexible and offers high performance, low wide-band noise and a high degree of linearisation gain.
The need for enhanced data speeds and bandwidth efficiency is ever increasing, driving the move to more complex linear modulation schemes.
CML said the CMX998 provides all of the building block functions needed to implement a Cartesian feedback loop transmitter in a two-way radio design.
The device is ideally suited to multimode software-defined radio (SDR) systems, improving the efficiency and linearity of transmitters and can support a range of linear modulation formats and standards, including TDMA operation, Tetra mobile station power classes up to 3W (Class-3), APCO P25 and Tetra 2 terminals.
Other suitable applications include aviation systems, mobile satellite terminals and many more using linear modulation schemes.
The upgraded CMX998 integrated solution is available now, operating in the range 3V to 3.6V and available in a 64-pin VQFN package with an added thermal ground pad to aid performance.
An evaluation kit (EV9980) is also available.
