CAN receiver has improved EMC and ESD levels
NXP Semiconductors
TJA1043 CAN transceiver
NXP Semiconductors has launched the TJA1043 - a high-speed CAN transceiver with improved electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrostatic discharge (ESD) performance levels.
The TJA1043 standalone HS-CAN transceiver solution provides power-supply control for the entire node.
Designed and developed in collaboration with key automotive OEMs and suppliers, the TJA1043 exhibits fail-safe features, network diagnostics and wake-up source recognition.
Built on the latest automotive OEM specifications, the TJA1043 provides a solution for the automotive manufacturers to control the electrical load.
It exhibits very low electromagnetic emission (EME), enabling reduced network ringing and allowing chokeless operations.
The TJA1043 also has a very high electromagnetic immunity (EMI), along with ESD protection.
It has a low power consumption and demonstrates passive behaviour when the supply voltage is turned off.
These combined performance characteristics ensure that the vehicle operates as designed without being affected by its anticipated electromagnetic environment.
Complementing NXP's HPMS (High Performance Mixed Signal) strategy, the TJA1043 is designed for high-speed (up to 1Mbit/s) CAN applications in the automotive industry.
Enhancements include: improved EMC and ESD performance; 24V support for truck applications and reduced quiescent current consumption.
Fully ISO 11898-2 and ISO 11898-5 compliant, the transceiver has been qualified to Automotive Electronics Council (AEC) standard Q100 and is suitable for use in automotive applications.
The transceiver is housed in an environmentally friendly, RoHS-compliant package and does not contain any halogenated flame retardants.
