Maxim offers stereo audio codec to improve performance and prevent speaker damage
Maxim Integrated Products
MAX98089 stereo audio codec
Maxim Integrated Products has introduced MAX98089, a highly integrated stereo audio codec whose small size and low power consumption makes it suitable for portable media applications such as tablets, netbooks and mobile phones.
MAX98089 has a graphical user interface (GUI) designed to enhance its ease of use, as well as integrated jack detection to detect button presses and the insertion and removal of accessories.
Its DAC-to-headphone idle power consumption is 5.6mW, which, according to Maxim, extends battery life and represents a 15 per cent improvement over the competition.
Utilising Maxim’s proprietary Flexsound audio technology, MAX98089 is claimed to optimise the signal level and frequency response, while limiting the maximum distortion and power at the output.
Key specifications
